The first company I joined way back in 2003 was Intrasoft Technologies Pvt. Ltd / 123Greetings.com as a link-building executive for the major ecard portal. Social Media had a very limited presence those days and people mainly relied upon Ecards (Electronic Cards) to express their affection & best wishes.
Shelagh Delaney, an English dramatist, and screenwriter quoted, ‘You can remember the second and the third and the fourth time, but there’s no time like the first. It’s always there.’ And luckily, the same happened to me at my first job.
Spending the initial 5 years of my professional life at 123Greetings.com has been more of a learning experience as I savored the opportunity to harness my digital marketing skills which itself were going through infancy period that time and there were a handful number of working professionals in this domain. Businesses just wanted to create a digital presence for themselves but lacked any serious idea about the ROI through such initiatives.
During this period, I also got to learn about the latest trends in web technologies and most interestingly understand the various cultures and festivals being celebrated across the world. (Never knew that there’s a day called National Nude Day on Jun 14th 😃)
During the later 12 years, I had the opportunity of working with several Software Development and Digital Marketing related MNCs and most of the part has been a wonderful and memorable experience.
My first startup was an online Bollywood publication called BollywoodGossips.net, which I started in September 2007 and eventually, after a few months, became one of the top 50 Bollywood blogs in India with more than 10,000 visitors per day. I also got the chance to become the digital promotions – media partner with two Bollywood production houses.
Due to lack of time, I had an exit from BollywoodGossips.net in 2012. Presently, I work as Technical Consultant for USA based Vziom Technologies, LLC, and successfully serve their clients based across the USA. I also write, speak and consult on digital marketing regularly.
