Joker Malware is back – 15 Apps you need to delete from your Android Phone

Joker Malware is Back!

I’m sure no one loves malware. And if the malware is something like the Joker Malware, you got no other choice than to hard reset your Android phone.

The Joker malware created quite a scare last year after it had infected several apps. Google had to intervene and remove those apps from Google Play Store to protect users. But it seems like the malware is back again.

What is Joker malware and what does it do?

Joker Malware or Joker Virus was first found in 2017 in some Google Apps. It was undetectable initially because this malware was hidden and adjusted itself according to the device framework. Joker Malware comes in two parts. Once the first part is downloaded, it initiates the auto-download of the second part which is a .DEX file.

Being a spyware, it can access your text messages and can secretly approve payments, copy your contact list, app data including user credentials, debit/credit card details, and almost every user input you’re making your Android device. In short, it has full control of your phone without your knowledge, and this is dangerous.

How to Check for Malware on Android?

To check for malware on your Android device, go to the Google Play Store app and click the three-line icon in the top-left left corner of your screen. Then Google Play Protect and tap the scan button. Google Play Protect is a free and in-built service that automatically scans all the apps on your device to check for malware on your Android device.
